Abstract

|
The eosinophils of the mice after feeding with panax-ginseng during 3 weeks were counted and compared with those of normal mice in order to investigate the effects of panax-ginseng on the eosinophile variation. ,
These data obtained in the experiments showed the following results:
1. The eosinophils of mice were appearently decreased by oral adminstration of panax-ginseng and the tendency of the decrease in the eosinophils was likely to appear on 4th day after the oral adminstration of the panax-ginseng.
2. It was cosidered that the eosinopenic response of the mice which were adminstered with panax-ginseng during 3 weeks was due to the increasing tendency of basal metabolic rate by which utilization of the corticoids accelerated and resulting fall of corticoids in the circulation stimulate the liberation of ACTH via the pituitary gland or the symphatomimetic action of panax-ginseng stimulate- the adrenal medulla and secrete the adrenalin by which eosinopenic respone caused.
